Kylie had been purchased by a family who did not do their homework. After about a year they called Animal Control to find somewhere they could place the ferret. Luckily one of the officers worked with SAFE and offered to pick her up. When she arrived she was told that the owners did not know if the ferret was a boy or girl, and that they had been feeding her lettuce and carrots. The poor ferret was severely underweight, had never had a hammock to sleep in, had a litterbox with no litter, and had wood shavings in her cage. When she was picked up she only weighed 12 ounces, and after just a month's time she had put on 1 whole pound! Kylie has put on even more weight and is now a beautiful, healthy little girl who loves to be loved.
